"Northern Niche"

I have spent a lifetime fishing for Northern Pike. I have caught them in a variety of ways; lures, live bait, flies, ice fishing, jigging, trolling and even with a hot dog lol (with a photograph to back that story up lol). The only remaining way left to me was to capture it in a composition... an oil painting. I have ducked my head under the water a few times to see where they call home. My memories have built this composition for your enjoyment. Adding the reflections on the lake bed was a pretty  cool challenge and helped this painting become one of my personal favourites. I hope it becomes one of yours!
