"Esnagami Stranded" Print
This is another print of an oil painting based on my adventure to Esnagami. This one is special to me. Well the whole trip was special but this composition was created because of an experience I won't ever forget. I was with a friend and we noticed a cow moose swimming quickly to shore. She bolted through the bushes like a hot knive through butter. We had no idea why but then we noticed a calf struggling in the water. It is never advisable to approach wildlife and we were in a very isolated place. We had no choice though and decided to pull up along side the struggling calf. I grabbed the calf by the scruff of the neck and we proceeded to get it to swim in a straight line. I think it was panicked because the mother was long gone. For the sake of about 10 seconds we managed to get the calf to swim to shore where the cow waited anxiously. Mission accomplished. The print does not have the moose in the composition simply because it was a blurry photograph and I could not make out the details. But I do have the reference photo in case there is any doubt. I decided the focus of the composition should be the canoe instead. Hope you enjoy.
